Never EVER give your password to ANYONE!

Boomspeed Scams- This scam was tricky to catch because the scammer isn't cheating you out of anything from
neopets. What happens is the scammer sends you an email pretending to be a Boomspeed employee.(Boomspeed
is an image hosting service) The scammer tells you that they will erase your Boomspeed account if you don't send
them 10 dollars. BEWARE this is a scam. Boomspeed will never send you such an email. Neopets has alerted
Boomspeed to the problem. If you recieve such an email report it to Neopets using this form.

Fake Staff-Once again NO MEMBER OF THE STAFF will ever ask for your password, and no member of the staff will
EVER contact you through neomail, except theneopetsteam. The only messages you will ever recieve from
theneopetsteam will be warnings, they will only tell you what you are doing wrong. They won't ask you for any
information. If anyone EVER contacts you pretending to be a member of the Neopets Staff report them immediately
using this form.

Fake Login Pages/ Items- Some scammers put fake items in their shops. Once you click on the item and press 'yes'
you wish to buy, you will be re-directed to a page that looks like a Neopets login screen. WATCH OUT! If you look at
the URL at the top of the page, you'll see it is not actually a Neopets site, only a scam to try to get your password.
IF YOU DON'T SEE THIS URL IN YOUR BROWSER:

THEN DON'T ENTER YOUR PASSWORD
If you see any shops that do this, report them using this form as soon as possible.

Shop Scams- This scam is also called a Raffle or Shop Contest. (Both raffles and shop contests are illegal under
Neopets rules) The scammer will tell you that if you buy something from their shop they will give you a prize or tell
you a 'secret' This is only a scam to get you to buy overpriced junk. THERE IS NO 'SECRET' TO MAKING NP!
Anyone who is found to be using their shop to scam will be FROZEN!

Neositting-This works both ways. If someone offers to sit for your pets while you're away for vacation they'll tell you
that they will need your password. OR. They'll tell you that they're going away for a while and need you to sit their
pets. They'll offer you a great prize, but they'll want your password to see how you treat your own pets before they
let you take over. THIS IS A SCAM! Neopets can stay in the NeoLodge for up to one whole month, and anyway
Neopets can't die. They might get hungry but they'll be fine if you leave them alone for a while.

-Chain Letters You've seen them. Those irritating messages on the message boards and in the trades. "Post this
message a billion times and you'll get a prize" These don't work. Even if it says it's Neopets approved. It's a lie.
Neopets will NEVER ask you to pass on a message. Why would they? So if you ever recieve a chain letter in your
neomail delete it and report the sender.

Chain Messages DON'T WORK!
Pick up a button and let others know that Chain letters are EVIL.
The bad kind of evil, not like us.

NeoDrive URL Scam- NEVER send anyone your Neodrive URL, if you do then you are giving them your password!
And we all know how bad that is!

Email Scams- This latest scam is to try to get you to change your email or password in order to win a prize like a
paint brush or a million neopoints. The scammer will ask you to change your password to something easy like
'Flotsam'. NEVER do this! If you do your are handing the scammer your account on a plate, and they'll be able to
steal all your items and point and get your account frozen. Remember that big revolving message at the top of this
page. No Neopets staff member will EVER ask you for your password! If anyone contacts you ask for your password
report them immediately using this form. And if you can try and include a copy of the message.

Virus Tricksters-A particularly nasty form of Scammer Scum. They post links to viruses on the web, claiming that it's
a Neopets help site or a Neopoints Generator or any number of things. IT IS NOT! It's a virus that can really wreak
havoc on your computer. The same goes for spyware.

Trading not via the Trading Post- Why would you do this?!?! It's common sense people. If you're trading, use the
tradeing post. That's what it's there for. If someone refuses to use the Trading Post there's a good chance they're a
scammer. Otherwise trade at your own risk. There's nothing neopets can do for you if you don't use the trading post.
Fake Contests- If anyone is having a contest, then they are NOT endorsed by Neopets and they do not need your
password to send you your prizes. Play at your own risk.

Remember:
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
